Slumber Under the Stars is the latest painting in my 'starscapes' series that celebrate the celestial beauty of the night sky in rural Australia. Constellations are studded in the starry sky.
This mixed media painting is inspired by a curiously shaped mountain on the Warwick/Brisbane drive. We all seem to have different names for it - mouse mountain, cat mountain, rabbit mountain, possum mountain and there are many more. Its real name is Mount Greville. We often do that journey at night and I think of it as an animal tucked in for the evening, slumbering contentedly under the stars.
The painting is 35.5 cm wide x 91.5cm high on double thick canvas ready to hang. Mixed media with matt finish.
