Feedback & Recommendations
"Sue is an exceptionally talented arts practitioner and counsellor. I have had the pleasure of working alongside her in various capacities for over ten years. We have collaborated as team members on community development, well-being, and advocacy projects, as well as supporting individuals with mental health concerns. As a Mental Health Social Worker, I have consistently appreciated Sue's creative input and her natural ability to connect with and support individuals and groups using a tailored approach. Her expressive art workshops, resources, training, and creative care have resulted in significant positive outcomes for individuals and groups and left the participants with additional skills/ strategies and resources to improve their well-being.
Her generous nature drives her commitment to ensuring that vulnerable individuals in our community have access to her resources and positive support. I highly recommend Sue to anyone looking to access resources, support and workshops that promote uplifting mental health and well-being experiences that will inform and empower."

"Sue and I have worked together many times, over a period of 20 years, delivering programs in the human services sector.
Sue brings a wonderful combination to her work - formal qualifications, life experience, artistic sensibilities, interpersonal sensitivity, and relationship skills.
She is a connector and collaborator with a lively mind and lots of ideas, always looking for solutions and ways forward, and always concerned for the wellbeing of her clients.
Sue has run several therapeutic art workshops for rural women which I have been a part of. Her warmth and inclusiveness are wonderful assets and she is skilled at facilitating the artistic process while maintaining a positive strength-focussed therapeutic intent. The feedback from participants has been enthusiastic and filled with gratitude and wonder at the artworks she has helped them achieve.
I would happily work with Sue again and can highly recommend her to others who might be looking to design and deliver innovative progams for the people they serve, especially at the intersection of social prescribing and therapeutic arts practice."

"I had the privilege of working alongside Sue Hamlet during my time at headspace Warwick, where she delivered art classes that were so much more than creative workshops, they were safe spaces for self-expression, healing, and growth.
Sue has a rare ability to connect with young people in a way that feels both supportive and empowering. Her art classes weren't just about creating beautiful pieces, they were about fostering emotional wellbeing and providing a creative outlet for navigating the challenges of mental health. Her gentle guidance and ability to listen with genuine care made a profound difference in the lives of the young people we supported.
Professionally, Sue's dedication to her craft and her deep understanding of the therapeutic power of art were evident in every session she facilitated. Personally, I was continually inspired by her warmth, patience, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in our community. So much so that I took part in one of her courses myself.
Sue is a gifted facilitator and a compassionate professional, and I have no doubt that she will continue to transform lives wherever her work takes her. It was an absolute pleasure collaborating with her, and I cannot recommend her highly enough to any organisation seeking to empower others through creative and meaningful engagement."

"It is my pleasure to recommend Sue Hamlet, a highly personable, hard-working and innovative professional whom I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with for several years. She has been the driving force behind WAAT, the Women’s Advocacy and Action Team (Southern Downs), a small team that has been involved in bringing awareness of domestic and family violence to our district.
As the founding force behind WAAT, Sue has been instrumental in bringing together all stakeholders of domestic and family violence in our district to form an Integrated Service Response team. Along with other team members, Sue very capably drew together members of our community, our local council and the Office of Women and Violence Prevention (Qld) to arrange CRASF training for our district as well as liaising with the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council to arrange a series of informative public meetings at both Warwick and Stanthorpe. Before that, Sue organised a meeting with our local Federal member, David Littleproud, to express our concerns with a lack of support and services for victim survivors of DFV and has represented the team in both newspaper and radio interviews.
Sue is a highly motivated and driven individual who consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism and integrity in all her interactions. Her exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively make her a valuable asset to any team, as does her ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
I have no doubt that Sue will be an invaluable asset to any organization. She has my highest personal recommendation, and I am confident that her future endeavours will be met with great success.

“Sue’s cards arrived today!! As an art therapist I’m torn between gifting these to a colleague for Christmas or keeping to use myself with clients. Stunning. The cards prompt lots of thoughts. They come with a lovely felt pouch too and it’s a quality set. So beautiful”

Sue made learning easy and enjoyable. Sue explains concepts using examples and has an abundance of knowledge that she openly shares so everyone can get ahead. Sue creates a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where her students can feel confident about exchanging their views and emotions. Sue is a natural in this field and I wish her the very best.
